93% ignore abandoned shopping carts |

Recent research has shown that 85% of online shoppers abandoned partially completed shopping carts for a range of reasons.
Most online retailers (93%!) ignore these shoppers even though there may be lots of evidence for why they abandoned their cart.
Using cart analysis and event triggered emails, many of those carts can be revived and consumers encouraged to complete. This may involve a simple discount, a loyalty voucher or some other incentive. It may also just require a reminder.
The research matches with our own advice to our clients on the important of conversion rates online. Converting more existing customers or site visitors can be much more profitable than acquiring new customers.
